Project description:

This two-bedroom apartment, measuring 77 m2, was designed with the wishes of a couple in their later years—still quite active—in mind. At this stage of life, people know exactly what they want and aren’t open to design experiments. They chose a traditional style for their home. We know that such an interior with classic elements is a safe bet even for small apartments.
In 2017, we were commissioned to design two small apartments in a modern classic style at the same time. The inspiration for both clients was the 86 m² “Elegant Belle” apartment, which we designed in 2012. One set of clients saw this apartment in person, while the other saw it in photos in our portfolio. And this amazing story once again confirms a simple truth: classic style is “timeless”!

Contemporary design is changing rapidly, and certain design choices and elements quickly go out of style. Classic interiors, however, are not subject to such rapid changes and will continue to provide their owners with warmth and comfort for years to come.
The entire design world is moving toward simplicity, and this applies to classic interiors as well.
In real life, not many people follow the latest trends in interior design or are willing to regularly adapt their homes to new fads and trends. Most clients want an interior that will serve them for many years and won’t feel overwhelming. That’s why a calm, classic style is always popular. A light, calm classic style—without gilding, heavy moldings, columns, or excessive ornamentation—doesn’t stand out, doesn’t grow tiresome, and serves as the perfect backdrop for daily life. Homeowners will always return to such a home with joy.
The interior features a subdued color palette. Light and white tones dominate the decorative wall finishes. There are no unnecessary elements in the finishes or furniture, helping to preserve the sense of space. At the same time, the interior does not feel sterile, as the classic furniture, lighting, textiles, and decor are rich in detail and full of character.
The apartment is furnished with furniture and lighting from the best European manufacturers.
All walls are finished with decorative plaster from the Ukrainian manufacturer “Elf Decor”.
The ceilings are adorned with stucco moldings from the Belgian brand Orac Decor.
The apartment’s layout remains unchanged, allowing it to be both functional and comfortable.

Entrance hall.
This apartment pleasantly surprises us right from the moment we step inside. The first thing that catches your eye are the beautiful doors and wardrobe, custom-made by the Stradivari woodworking workshop.
Unfortunately, we were technically unable to raise the low doorways in the load-bearing wall. Since the ceiling height is 2.9 m, designer Natalia suggested visually increasing the height of the doors by adding capitals.
The clients did not want to designate a separate walk-in closet in order to maximize the use of the space. We custom-built a corner wardrobe with mirrored fronts. The ottoman at the entrance is by Seven Sedie.
The flooring in the hall and kitchen is porcelain stoneware from the Spanish company PORCELANOSA.
Decorative lighting in the hall: an Elstead chandelier from England and Leucos ceiling lights from Italy.

Living Room
The entire family will gather in the spacious living room, accessed through a wide double door with faceted glass. For the sofa with a pull-out bed mechanism and the armchairs by Asnaghi, we chose velvet in shades of gray and blue. It must be said that the decor played a key role in bringing coziness, comfort, and elegance to this interior. A mirror from the renowned Eichholtz brand has become the focal point of the living room. The design also features two gold-finished Eichholtz side tables placed on either side of the sofa. The living room features decor from the American brand Ralph Lauren and the European brand ZARA HOME.
The living room is adorned with a chandelier and sconces made of Murano glass by EUROLUCE.
In the center lies a silk Indian rug, on which stands a table by GIORGIO CASA.

The doors were crafted by the Stradivari woodworking shop.

Kitchen.
The large, spacious kitchen has everything you need and is equipped with appliances from the German brand MIELE.
The kitchen furniture and extendable table from the renowned Italian brand ASTER, as well as pieces from the Seven Sedie factory, were supplied to our apartment by the Alterlight showroom. This company also helped us select decorative and functional lighting from DELTA LIGHT.
The white neoclassical kitchen cabinet fronts look great in contrast with the black marble.
The kitchen countertop and work surface are covered with natural Black Wood marble.
Marble elements: window sills, kitchen countertop and backsplash, as well as the countertop for the bathroom vanity, were crafted for us by SKHID_ZAKHID.
The wooden dish cabinet was crafted by Stradivari.

Bedroom
We selected the standard bedroom set—a bed, two nightstands, and a dresser—from GIORGIO CASA.
All the furniture, as well as the custom-made 3-door wardrobe, is white. According to designer Natalia Poplavskaya’s concept, color was to be introduced into the interior through textiles and decor. We loved the velvet in various shades of lilac.
Lighting by Pedret Italy.

Bathrooms
We have two bathrooms in a relatively small space. For them, we used tiles and fixtures from NOKEN, a brand of the Spanish group Porcelanosa.
